A Summer Day

The green trees

The lofty fields,

The sky allowed

The fleeting clouds

To cast a spell

Of long lost smell:

Of sweat, of heat,

Of melons sweet

The cooling breeze

The heat to seize,

The reddened face

And dancing pace

The scorching sun

The massive fun,

The paper boats

That smoothly float

The dusty paths

The soothing baths,

The waters shine

At clothesline…

The memory bends

It never ends.
