Centuries Apart

We live in a time centuries apart:

Your world from mine

In continuous straight line

Always running parallel

Doesn’t meet to depart

***

The hours move slow, sometimes fast

Worn between desires

Incapacitating wires

Making it all relative

The present and past, all feeling aghast

***

Like light only, if would the time;

May bend and refract

To help us act

And cross at a point

To accomplish a feat sublime!
