Once it’s burnt, the toast cannot be undone
Even if you scratch or scrape hard the bun.
If still tried, it will only hurt some more,
Leaving the toast hollower than before.
Or if buttered and honeyed in soft words,
The strong burnt taste will still be overheard.
Leaving it as such is also not a choice;
The munch and crunch will make a lot of noise.
Despite trying hard, have never found a cure
To do something that would work as a sure.
Amidst the multitude of tastes and sounds,
I doubt if it would ever stand a ground.
So then, burnt it is for it forever
Unless one fine day it turns so clever
To let everyone find it an honour
To not leave the burnt toast in the corner.
