The door again is closed today,
And I am stranded out
In freezing cold and chilling wind,
With darkness all around.
…..
The dogs howl and the sirens wail,
Breaking all the silence.
Then it’s all hush and quiet again
In darkening surveillance.
…..
Once it is calm, I wander back;
And lightly push the door.
Never locked, it opens up
And I then float ashore.
…..
The waves that I have surfed upon
Now wave to me good bye;
Gazing back I feel the sand
Then look up at the sky.
…..
All bright and clear with floating clouds,
Gliding among the birds,
I reach a nest high up a tree,
And nestle up in words.
…..
Under cover, since then I’ve slept;
And dreamed of all that’s dear
Till I wake up and feel the world,
I slumber here and there.
